Nichole & Thomas's Luxurious Chateau Wedding in the South of France
Tucked away in the French countryside, down a long drive lined with tall trees, lies the Chateau de Tourreau, a stunning 3 story venue, adorned with full-length windows, picturesque green shutters, and several wrought iron balconies that look out over the vast property. This was the setting for Nichole and Thomas's wedding day.
In the chateau, Nichole and her little girls and loved ones drank mimosas and got their hair and makeup done in a large suite filled with natural light. The morning was a blend of reading sentimental letters, exchanging thoughtful gifts, and tears of joy and laughter. Nic's hair and makeup, done perfectly by Maud Tordjman, was classic and timeless. Her long golden curls cascaded down her shoulders and she just glowed. The air was scented with her chosen perfume, Chanel Chance. Nic's jewelry was sooo stunning, she wore a thick cigar-style wedding band encrusted with dozens of small white diamonds and a breathtaking oval-cut solitaire diamond engagement ring.
Nic wore three dresses throughout the day, all equally stunning. The first, an ivory gown from Allure Bridals with a sheer floral lace top layer, long sleeves, puffy shoulders, and a deep plunging neckline, was unbelievable. Her Stuart Weitzman shoes, white with a row of crystals across the toe, added just the right amount of sparkle. We did some bridal portraits of just Nichole on the balcony before we got started with the day.
Thomas prepared for the day in the chateau’s billiards room. He was a picture of classic elegance, dressed in Giorgio Armani and wearing Bleu de Chanel. His black satin bowtie, white pocket square, and black and white polka dot suspenders (hidden under the jacket) added a personal touch. Gold wedding band and diamond cufflinks completed his look. His groomsmen wore classic black suits as well.
Nic and Tom have five beautiful children, and Nic really wanted to have a special first look with her oldest son, Aiden, before the day got started. After portraits, Nichole walked downstairs to the foyer to where he was waiting, and his reaction was a mix of awe and sweet tears, as he told Nichole he was just so excited and glad all this was really happening, the sweetest!
Next, Nic & Thomas shared a private first look for just the two of them on the chateau’s front steps. After a moment alone together, Thomas brought out a vintage two-seater car provided by Provence Classics and he and Nichole joined with the children and family members for playful and memorable photos of them adorably pretending to drive it.
The ceremony space in the courtyard of the chateau was decorated with a minimalist green and white floral arrangements by Un Brin Bohème. The spectacular florals perfectly complemented the green shutters and white window frames of the chateau. Nic and Thomas exchanged their heartfelt vows under a huge arch made of baby's breath and white roses, which brought tears to everyone’s eyes. It was a moment of pure joy, not just for Nic and Thomas, but for everyone present, especially their children.
After the I do’s and many more happy tears and big hugs, the celebration continued with an outdoor cocktail hour. Vining flowers climbed the courtyard walls, creating a picturesque setting as the Popcorn Factory Orchestra played live music. Guests enjoyed champagne and lots of delicious appetizers, including miniature cheeseburger sliders and warm melted cheese.
Despite it raining off and on all evening, the reception was a cozy, candlelit affair under a tent. White table settings and taper candles placed along trails of baby's breath created an elegant atmosphere as guests were served an incredible five-course dinner, expertly prepared by Frédéric Bernard Traiteur. Toasts, laughter, and stories filled the air after dinner.
Later in the evening, Nic and Thomas held a second, more intimate ceremony in the chateau's breathtaking chapel, a moment of quiet reflection and celebration with close friends. After the private ceremony, the couple returned to cut their three-layer wedding cake, decorated with flowers and lit sparklers. The rest of the night was filled with dancing, a cigar break outside for the groomsmen, and a playful sparkler exit with the wedding party.
I still can’t quite put into words how special this day was. Thank you, Nic & Tom for having me and trusting me to capture the big and the little precious moments on your day.
