Madelyn and Joe will make you believe in high school sweethearts. In high school, they were both in a bad car accident before prom – afterwards, Joe’s worldview had changed and he simply couldn't imagine living without Madelyn. They started dating a week later and went through a long-distance relationship while Joe pursued his bachelor's degree in biology at UNI and Madelyn finished her associate's degree at NIACC. Their love grew stronger during the long-distance relationship, and they moved to Indianola in 2019, where Madelyn attended Simpson College.

Just one month after moving in together, Joe proposed to Madelyn in a place where they liked to stargaze. To add to the romantic moment, it started pouring down rain out of nowhwere just 10 minutes after the proposal, which they took as a good omen.

When Madelyn and Joe's wedding day rolled around, it was a perfect, magical day in the countryside near Bondurant. The wedding was held at Irishman Acres' Clover Barn, outside under a charming white gazebo. Madelyn wore a stunning Eddy K dress from Schaffer's, while her bridesmaids wore elegant dresses from David's Bridal. The groom and his groomsmen looked sharp in their suits from Milroy's Tuxedos. Guests gathered on whitewashed benches and chairs with cute potted Boston ferns dotting the aisle.

After their sweet ceremony, Madelyn and Joe and their guests gathered inside for a buffet dinner. The happy couple cut into a whimsical blue and white two-tier cake to kick off the night, and family and friends gave loving champagne toasts, and the night ended with everyone dancing on the dance floor. Madelyn and Joe's wedding day was filled with love, laughter, friends, and family.
