Sarah & Sam’s Modern Romantic Wedding at The Loft DSM

Sarah and Sam met in Chicago during their freshman year of college, way back in 2013. They fell in love and became instantly inseparable. They moved in together soon after meeting, and immediately took the leap and moved to New York City together. They stayed there for three years before realizing their hearts were calling them back to the Midwest, and their journey brought them home to Des Moines in early 2020. Sarah & Sam are an outdoorsy couple and love exploring nature with their pup – they got engaged on a ski trip to Montana in 2021.

Their wedding day at The Loft DSM was modern and romantic. Sarah's stunning dress by Maggie Sotero featured delicate floral appliqué lace that perfectly complemented her chic blunt bob haircut, styled by Art of Life Salon. Her studded heels and drop pearl earrings were the perfect finishing touches to her edgy yet romantic look. Sarah’s bouquet featured pink tulips, dahlias, ranunculus, and orchids. Her and Sam’s classic gold wedding bands were displayed in a clear acrylic engraved ring box, and the couple even had modern his and hers vow books

Their first look took place in a parking garage, followed by wedding party photos on the rooftop of the historical building with the Des Moines skyline in the background. The wedding took place at the Loft DSM. The venue was warm, rustic, and inviting with wood floors, natural light, and stunning floral arrangements everywhere you looked. The ceiling installation of greenery and glass globe lighting created an unforgettable environment for the ceremony.

For their reception, Sarah and Sam cut into a gold leaf encrusted cutting cake and served guests tea cakes and flutes of champagne from a champagne wall with neon lights displaying the couple's last name. The Loft DSM was the perfect location for their special day, with every detail carefully selected.
