Natasha & Kyle’s Colorful Salisbury House Wedding in Des Moines, Iowa

Natasha and Kyle had the most stunning Eastern & Western fusion wedding in the heart of Des Moines at an estate tucked back in one of the most charming neighborhoods at Salisbury House. These two met in 2018 and after one date, Natasha knew Kyle was the one. Their whole day was filled with so much love from family and friends who traveled the world to celebrate with them.

We started the day at the AC Hotel in East Village getting ready with their wedding party. I especially loved putting together the bright and colorful flat lay with tones of blue, pink and orange which reflected the decor and theme of their day. Each bridesmaid wore a bright blue lehenga or full skirt with a cropped top, and the maid of honor’s was pink. Natasha had two dresses, one was a traditional lehenga that was white and had heavy beading covering the cropped top and full skirt, and the other was a lighter material and was red. Natasha started out in her white ensemble for the first look and photos with the wedding party.

We headed to Salisbury House for the first look and after a heartwarming first look between the couple, and then we toured the venue for portraits before wedding party photos. Natasha also had the sweetest first look with her dad, and it brought me to tears! We took wedding party photos in the front lawn of Salisbury House, and after photos, Natasha changed into her red lehenga for the baraat. A baarat literally means "a marriage procession". It's a vibrant celebration that's a significant part of most Indian weddings. It’s a traditional Indian wedding procession that takes place before the ceremony and involves the groom and his family traveling to the bride's home, or in this case, right to the venue! The couple rode together in a red convertible to all of their guests dancing and celebrating and throwing rose petals to celebrate. Both the bride and groom took turns performing dances for each other. It was SO much fun being surrounded by the happiness and joy from all of their friends and family.

Directly after, everyone walked through Salisbury House and sat down in the garden for the ceremony. White Willow Events created the most stunning floral arrangements down the aisle and at the altar. Natasha had her dad walk her down the aisle to Kyle, and it was so sweet seeing the men in her life emotional and so full of happiness and love.

After the ceremony, everyone walked through Salisbury House to the open courtyard for dancing the night away. The first dance with Natasha and Kyle was so sweet with their families and friends surrounding them under the sunset and pink clouds it created. Natasha’s dance with her dad was so sweet and upbeat! As it got dark out, they served dippin’ dots and it was the perfect summer wedding dessert. Natasha changed into a short beaded dress for the rest of dancing and we did a little photo shoot in a gorgeous bathroom upstairs of the Salisbury House before heading back down for dancing.

We ended the night at the AC Hotel downtown Des Moines in East Village at their rooftop bar The Republic on Grand for the after party with drinks and apps!

I absolutely loved this day (and the multi day coverage - rehearsal dinner as well!) because I got to tell their story of one of the best days of their life.
