Meg & Josh’s Colorful Southwest Wedding in New Mexico

What do you get when you mix a girl from New Mexico and a boy from Wyoming? The best western wedding you’ve ever been to. 🥃🤠

Oh, and lots of tequila.

Meg and Josh’s wedding at The Desert Compass was filled with the sweetest people, the most gorgeous turquoise jewelry, western details for days, and a mariachi band to top it all off. Meg wore a white dress with a silver western buckle belt, a long embroidered veil, and the coolest white cowboy boots with metallic floral stitching. She stacked on turquoise rings, bracelets, and a long silver necklace—such a perfect southwest bride. Josh looked sharp in a tan suit and vest, a turquoise bolo tie, and a white cowboy hat, with a bright orange ranunculus boutonniere to tie it all together.

Their ceremony in the courtyard was stunning—bright New Mexico sun, stucco walls, and a colorful floral arch in shades of pink and orange. Their vows had everyone tearing up, and then, right before their first kiss, they took a group tequila shot with all of their wedding guests. After the ceremony, they led their guests on a walk through town, a mariachi band playing as they waved to people on the streets—the most fun way to celebrate.

For their cocktail hour, they served jalapeño poppers, elote cups, chips and salsa, and cocktails. Guests took photos in the cute photo booth, and there were so many flowers everywhere. It was gorgeous. The mariachi band kept the energy high while everyone mingled, and as the sun set, Meg and Josh kicked off their reception with an impressive first dance—fully choreographed, with lots of fun moves. Dinner was served at long banquet tables under twinkle lights, with loved ones giving sentimental toasts and speeches. Then the dance floor turned into a party—bubble guns, tequila being passed around, and everyone having the best time.

This day was pure magic in the desert. 🌵
