Lauren & Seth’s Laid-Back Wedding Day at Toast

Lauren and Seth’s day in Des Moines was so relaxed, so fun, and full of great energy from start to finish. They got married at Toast in Ankeny and everything took place right there—from their first look to the final dance. They kept things super simple and low-stress, which made the whole day feel really easy and joyful.

They did a first look in front of the altar, surrounded by flowers suspended from the ceiling, and shared private vows with just the two of them. Their ceremony was in the same space, with tons of twinkle lights and bright, glam details. Afterward, we headed to the rooftop for wedding party portraits—bridesmaids in green, groomsmen in light grey, and Seth in a green suit. Lauren’s dress had the prettiest lace and a long veil, and her bouquet was full of color: eucalyptus, blush, red, peach, white, yellow… so many good textures and tones.

After the ceremony, the wedding party hit a bar arcade for drinks and games (yes to Mario Kart and celebratory shots!). The reception flipped back in the ceremony space, and cocktail hour happened up on the rooftop. Everyone was lively and ready to party. The bride’s family even gifted Seth a Vikings jersey as a joke during toasts, which was a hit. They wrapped up the night on the dance floor—glow sticks, parent dances, and lots of laughs.
