Brianna & Grant’s Elegant Capitol Building Engagement Session in Des Moines’ East Village
For Brianna & Grant’s engagement session, we started at the Iowa State Capitol (we truly do not deserve how beautiful this place is – the tall columns, marble floors, and that rotunda!). Brianna wore a long satin dress with an open-shoulder that was literally PERFECT. Grant looked sharp in dark pants and a crisp white button-down. Everything about it was so elegant.
After wrapping up at the Capitol, we walked over to Republic on Grand, one of my favorite spots in Des Moines to cozy up for a cocktail or glass of wine. The floor-to-ceiling windows and velvet booths made the perfect backdrop for some playful photos.
Once the sun went down, we headed outside for flash portraits with the Des Moines skyline in the background. Brianna’s dress looked amazing against the dark sky. Engagement sessions like this, where we get a mix of bold locations, sweet snuggles, and some nighttime magic are always my favorites.
