Where to Get Married in Eastern Iowa

I’m based in Solon, Iowa, and there are so many beautiful wedding venues in this part of the Midwest. I love helping couples find their dream venue to match their vision for their special day, so I wanted to put together a list of a few of my very favorite wedding venues here.

Whether you’re looking for a modern farmhouse venue with space for tons of guests, a space with lots of outdoor/indoor options, a grand and elegant ballroom, or something in between, Eastern Iowa has a lot to offer in places like Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and more. Here are a few of my favorite venues, each one offering its own special beauty to help create the wedding day you’ve been dreaming of:

Walker Homestead

Located just outside of Iowa City, Walker Homestead is a charming, 85-acre winery and working farm. The grounds feature a huge open-air pavilion and patio, fire pits, a wood-fired pizza oven and on-site catering, and the main barn even has 5 huge glass doors that open up to bring the fresh air indoors. The venue’s natural beauty is perfect for couples looking for an outdoor setting with sweeping Midwestern views. It’s especially beautiful for sunset photos in the rows of grapevines.

The venue’s balance of simplicity and beauty provides endless opportunities for gorgeous wedding photos with its clean, neutral palette, natural light, and countryside views. It’s a perfect place for the modern farmhouse wedding of your dreams.

It’s a great blend of historic and modern and features a ballroom with exposed brick and white walls and pillars, a whole wall of windows for tons of natural light, and a sleek, open layout with space for all your guests.
