Linda & Joel - Timeless, Intimate Wedding at Des Moines Embassy Club

Linda and Joel started their love story in their junior year at Iowa State University where they met during a group trip for ultimate frisbee players down to Texas. (Linda said Joel was the heart-throb on the men's ultimate frisbee team - but he didn't know it). Their mutual love for sports and board games brought them together, and despite the challenge of a long-distance relationship, their love remained strong for the two years they lived in different states, and Joel proposed to Linda during one of her visits to him at school in Madison, WI.

Their wedding day was held at the Des Moines Embassy Club, which provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception. Bella Flora Event Design beautifully decorated the venue with floral arrangements that included garden roses, sedum, rosette succulents, dahlias, and daisies in white, cobalt blue, and bold bright orange hues. The floral wood slat backdrop for the ceremony and wedding party photos was a beautiful touch that further showcased the beautiful florals. Linda looked stunning in her Watters dress from Bridal Boutique, while the bridesmaids wore powder blue Azazie dresses that complemented her minimalist white gown with lace embellishments at the top. The invitations by Shutterfly also perfectly captured their personality and style with a custom crossword puzzle paper suite/invitation that reflected their shared love for puzzles and games.

The outdoor reception on the water was a truly magical experience for everyone in attendance. The Des Moines Embassy Club provided the perfect location, with guest tables set up along the water, offering a stunning view of the sunset. The setting was serene and romantic, with the gentle breeze and the sound of the water adding to the enchanting atmosphere. During the reception, beloved guests gave champagne toasts, raising their glasses to honor the newlyweds, a heartwarming tribute to Linda and Joel's love story and the strong bonds they have formed with their family and friends. Molly's Cupcakes provided delicious desserts that included assorted cupcakes, a hit among the guests, with a variety of flavors to choose from. As the night went on, guests danced on the patio under the twinkle lights, and the sunset cast a warm and romantic glow over the entire scene.
