This wedding was a dream. A literal dream. From the tiny details like the bridesmaids thank you cards and the cupcakes at the reception all the way to the big details like Clancy’s drop dead gorgeous Enzoani dress and Nate’s ivory tux. AND to top it off, we got extra lucky and the springtime blooms were FULL and amazingly gorgeous this day.
Nate came across Clancy’s profile on Facebook and knew he had to shoot her a message. They almost crossed paths at the College World Series but narrowly missed each other, and Nate asked if he could make it up to her by taking her on a date. They went to Firebirds and spent hours and hours talking, and they both walked away thinking “Wow, this could really be something.”
A few years later and here they were! We started off the day at Des Luxe downtown Des Moines, IA. Clancy gifted each of the bridesmaids a kick ass denim jacket with “BABE” stiched across the back and I thought those were the cutest gifts! The boys started their day over at The Tea Room and this was my first time shooting there and it’s safe to say I’m hooked! From the elaborate room details to the large windows letting all of the gorgeous natural light in, it’s truly a stunning venue.
After Clancy and Nate’s first look at Des Luxe, we headed over to Hope Lutheran for their ceremony. I won’t ever forget how Nate looked at his bride walking down the aisle! It was something special to witness.
They said their “I do’s,” and hopped on a bus to the blooms at Waterworks park and we made MAGIC. I couldn’t have even imagined a more gorgeous bridal party to set the stage for such a gorgeous backdrop of blooming trees. I wish these photos had scratch and sniff!
The Tea Room in Des Moines is hands down one of the most gorgeous venues downtown. It has tons of natural light, seriously gorgeous architectural detail, and some amazing little balconies overlooking downtown. OKAY, I know you’re dying to scroll through this SO GO DO IT. Scroll down to see the most gorgeous springtime Des Moines wedding day at the Tea Room!
